No long horror waiting times at Schiphol, your house always at hand, drive to wherever you want. Out into the wide world with the camper. How wonderful does that sound and is it as wonderful as it seems? I found out that Nienke (from Stipstijl ) is a real camper addict and asked her a number of questions. Moreover, she came up with wonderful tips.
The camper love started with Nienke and her husband on the other side of the world, Australia to be precise. They then lived for 9 months in their own house on wheels, more of a van than a camper by the way, and had the time of their lives.
After this special time, where Nienke was inspired by the dot art of the aborigines, the camper life no longer let them go. Such an event makes an impression and once you have tasted real freedom, you want more. A camper was rented again for a wedding in Portugal and they were sure: we also need a camper.
Having your own camper remained a wish
It had always been a dream to own their own camper, so they could go wherever the family wanted. That worked! They have now had their own mobile holiday home for about six years, which has been renovated by themselves. It has become a cheerful car, in which you can really see Nienke's touch. Fresh colors and polka dots (of course) everywhere.
Kids and campers
The couple's two sons are more than happy to come along on the trip. They have both caught the camping virus and are thoroughly enjoying their holidays in Europe. An advantage with children is that you have everything, literally everything, at hand on the go. No lugging suitcases to your hotel, no long queues at the airport and always your own familiar place.
If I ask about the most beautiful camper memory, it is wild camping in Northern Spain on a beautiful lake. It felt very free and the atmosphere was idyllic. When you see Nienke's photos, you can be sure that no word has been lied about.
Renovate a camper yourself
Does it also start to tickle you when you read and see this? Would you like to own your own camper? Then you can of course look for your own mobile home, just like Nienke. And can you find a good second-hand one? Then be inspired by Happy campers lifestyle blog Caravanity . You will find so much fun about camping there: recipes, purchasing tips, DIY ideas, beautiful camping spots, etc.
4 tips for nice camper spots
According to Nienke, a lot of energy goes into finding the nicest places. If you want to end up as idyllic as possible and do not want to be hidden away on a few tiles each time, preliminary research is recommended. Fortunately, there is plenty of information available on the internet. Some great tips from Nienke are:
