Photography is ideal if you are looking for a fun, accessible hobby. Because you can find inspiration in absolutely everything around you. A small flower peeking through between the tiles, your pet peering musingly at the rain-drenched windows, the yellow summer light that turns the garden gold... every moment is one to capture. With a purpose, every seemingly boring environment or situation becomes exciting!
Starting your new hobby
If you have a good smartphone, your camera is always at hand. That's fine for those first photos, actually. If you go for a brisk walk, you don't have to carry anything with you. If you suddenly see that fox jump from behind a tree, it can immediately be immortalized!
But once you've caught the photography bug, there's a good chance you'll want more. An SLR camera is then a logical next step. This allows you to vary with different lenses and develop your own unique photography style.
Develop your own photography style
The search for your own personal style is very interesting. What subjects do you like to photograph? Do you prefer to turn on the light and photograph objects or do you prefer to capture the capriciousness of nature? When considering your own style, also consider the effects you can achieve with your camera, such as high key or low key photography.
What is high key photography?
With high key photography, the emphasis is on the white and light tones, which produces beautiful, soft images. The contrast is low, the image is light and the atmosphere is pure and pure. The ideal high key photo does not have harsh colors or deep shadows.
What is low key photography?
Low key photography is the exact opposite of high key. Low key photos are those moody, dark photos where only the object is carefully exposed. This is also possible with an SLR camera that you set manually.
Need photography inspiration?
We found these Inspiration themes at Kamera Express. The ideas are endless from drone photography, action photography and portrait photography to photographing animals, underwater and even good old-fashioned analogue. You will certainly find a photography style or form that suits you.
