Cookie dough - a healthy recipe

Although edible cookie dough is delicious, it can also contain quite a bit of sugar and fat. Fortunately, there is a healthier version that you can easily make at home, without sacrificing taste. Below is a simple recipe for healthy edible cookie dough.

Ingredients

Makes about 4 servings

  • 60 grams of butter or nut butter, at room temperature
  • 50 grams brown sugar substitute
  • 24 grams of powdered sugar substitute
  • 120 grams of almond flour
  • 30 milliliters (almond) milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 90 grams of dark chocolate chips

Preparation method

  1. Mix butter and sugar (substitutes) until creamy : Place the butter and sweeteners in a mixing bowl and mix until fluffy. You can also use a spoon and a mixing bowl.

  2. Mixing ingredients : Add the remaining ingredients, except the chocolate chips, and mix until smooth. Use a rubber spatula to fold in the chocolate chips and any other mix-ins.

  3. To chill : Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

  4. To serve : Make it as crazy as you want. You can put a scoop in a container, or roll balls for cookie dough bites.

TIP : Do you want to make a portion for one person? Simply divide all ingredients by four and prepare as described above.

Recipe tips and variations

  • Make it dairy-free by using dairy-free butter and dairy-free chocolate chips.
  • Make chocolate chip cookie dough by adding cocoa powder.
  • Vary it with coconut flakes, cashew butter, almond butter, peanut butter (or other nut butter), walnuts or finely chopped pecan nuts.
  • Replace the almond flour with equal parts oat flour or heat-treated white flour. You can also make oatmeal cookie dough!

  • To store : Store the cookie dough in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Let it thaw for a few minutes before enjoying.
  • To freeze : Place the cookie dough in a flat container and store in the freezer for up to 6 months.
