In February I (Mariko) was in New Castle with my sister . Highly recommended to go there for a weekend by ferry! We enjoyed the crossing and then spent a day shopping in the city. More tips will follow in another article, but with the warmer weather approaching I wanted to share this simple lemonade recipe with you. The lemonade we drank at Marks & Spencer is too simple for words, but SO delicious! I couldn't even get a decent photo. The bottle was immediately empty.

Lemon lemonade freshly squeezed - the recipe

Once home, I have made the lemonade numerous times, but with stevia instead of sugar. This is how I find it perfect now.

Ingredients

For ±1.5 liters of lemonade

  • 4 ripe lemons
  • 1 liter of water
  • 2.5 tablespoons of stevia to taste
  • a handful of ice cubes
  • some lemon slices (optional)
  • some drops of lemon oil (specially for consumption) or lemon aroma
  • a bottle or carafe of more than 1.5 liters (or 2 of 1 liter :))

Preparation method

Squeeze the lemons. Mix all ingredients in the bottle or carafe, close tightly and shake well. Pour a glass full and add ice cubes and a slice of lemon per glass. Serve cold and with a straw. Too simple for words, but delicious on a hot day. Actually just nice on any day.

Get everything you can out of it!

Extract all the juice from the lemons with a good juicer such as this one from Dabé. Also very useful for other citrus fruits and dishwasher safe. Useful! For sale at Bol.com, Dabé Citrus Press - €14.95
