Happlify: the best shopping guide + blog

Next week it's already Halloween, the kick off of all the festivities for the coming season. I can't put up the Christmas tree here yet, so I like to dive into everything creepy, creepy and pumpkin-like. My son would like Candy corn, but that seems to be sold out everywhere.

Candy corn is candy made from sugar - what else?! The eye-catching candy is primarily associated with fall due to its link to real corn and the fall harvest.

candy corn history

It was invented in 1880 by George Renninger of the Wunderlee Candy Company , but had a breakthrough in the 50's when America began distributing candy to trick-or-treaters on Halloween. This day always falls on October 31.

Fun fact : 9 billion candies are made every year.

Halloween

Traditionally, Halloween is mainly celebrated in Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada. Meanwhile, the party has also gained popularity in other parts of the world, such as here in our country. Children dress up and, when it gets dark, ring or knock on nearby houses decorated with pumpkins and lights and yell "Trick or treat!", given the choice of a trick (scare) or treat , usually candy).

Back to the topic: Candy corn. If you like very sweet, it's okay, but -honestly- you can also just chew on a sugar cube. For true Candy corn fans, that's swearing in church, of course. It's a lot of fun to make if you're looking for a fun fall DIY.

The recipe
