We really have to believe it and you wouldn't immediately say it, but summer is coming to an end and it won't be long before the days become shorter and colder. How nice is it to be able to hold on to that summer feeling for a while and to be able to muse about how wonderful the holiday was?!

I will give you a number of tips to help you maintain that summer feeling for a while:

1 - Provide summer scents in your home

The nice thing about holidays is that you spend a lot of time outside and smell the most wonderful scents. From lavender fields that you drive past, to the smell of freshly baked bread at the small village bakery. Make sure you can smell these scents in your own home and you will immediately imagine yourself back at your summer destination.

2 - Listen to music

Summer is often characterized by cheerful summer hits that you can't get out of your head. And who says you can't just play this when the summer is over. Listening to your favorite summer songs will bring you back to that nice beach bar or that nice nightclub!

3 - Browse your vacation photos

Okay admit how many photos do you have in your phone and how often do you look at them? Really take the time to make a physical photo album of your summer/holiday and look at it on those old-fashioned Dutch rainy days. That immediately makes you feel better.

💡 Extra tip: make a hexagon summer photo collage

With the Hexagon photo collage you make summer memories tangible. Make a collage from last summer or collect all your wonderful summer moments. The shape and appearance of the hexagonal photos are sleek, but at the same time playful because they are separate elements. Handy: you can continue to expand your Hexagon photo collage or easily change places or replace images over time. This way your wall with photo tiles grows with you and all your memories. 4 - Make holiday food

In the summer we often eat something more exotic than the standard avg. Delicious pasta, fresh salads, you name it. And okay, it doesn't always happen during the week, but take the time at the weekend, for example, to make a delicious dish from your favorite holiday country. The smell and taste of that delicious food will make you forget that you are sitting at your own kitchen table.

5 - Go outside

If possible, go outside. The nice thing about holidays is that you are often outside all day long. And we can make a fuss about that, but the outdoors is just good for you. Get on your bike, take a nice walk or eat your sandwich on a bench in the sun. This way you will see that you don't always have to go far away to get that relaxed summer feeling.

With these tips you can hold on to that summer feeling for a while. But perhaps even more importantly, just take it a bit easier. The great thing about summer is that everything moves at a slower pace, so why wouldn't we keep that going in winter?

So put on the brakes every now and then and enjoy!

💬 Tell me... do you have any tips to hold on to summer for a little while longer?
