Happlify: de leukste shopping guide + blog van Nederland en België 💛

You know those days when you wake up and immediately want to pull the covers over your head? Of course you can give in to that and wallow in it, but that won't do you any good anyway. So get up and try to make something of it. And with these three little tips you will certainly succeed!

3 tips for instant happiness

  1. Have a 5 minute dance party
  2. Take a walk
  3. Make a list of all the things you are grateful for

Tip 1 - Have a 5 minute dance party

If you're feeling down, there's nothing better than dancing it all out. Move some furniture aside, turn on your favorite music and swing away. You may feel a little awkward dancing around the living room like a crazy person, but you will see that it will benefit you enormously. Of course you can also sing along loudly.

And an extra tip: you can create a playlist on Spotify with songs that you are sure will always make you happy, then all you have to do is press a button for some instant happiness! By the way, what did you think of the Happlify playlist?!

Tip 2 - Take a walk

This sounds a bit like your grandma telling you that you really need to get some exercise and get some fresh air, but you know, your grandmas are always right! After a (small) walk you often feel a lot better. Especially now that we work from home a lot, we don't always get outside enough and it is very tempting to sit behind the computer in your pajama pants all day. So get on your feet and go out. You really don't have to walk an entire marathon right away, a small lap during your lunch break, for example, can do wonders. Also try to avoid all modern stimuli and turn off your phone. Consciously listen to the birds you hear singing and look at everything you encounter. Not only does it make you feel happier, it also makes you more creative. This way you can fully enjoy the rest of your working day!

Tip 3 - Make a list of all the things you are grateful for

If Oprah has been doing this for years, it must be a good idea, right?!

Research has shown that writing down a few things you are grateful for every day helps increase your sense of happiness. If you do this for at least a week, this feeling of happiness will last for six months! By looking at what you are grateful for, you feel more satisfied with your life and you can also empathize more with other people. Reason enough to make this a standard ritual. Buy a nice notebook and start writing. And yes, if you are ever deeply grateful for a bag of chips, you can of course write that in.
